Paul Downes

Paul Downes is a respected trial attorney who combines a client-centered philosophy with recognized legal skill to successfully represent a wide range of personal injury clients.

Before coming to Sieben, Grose, Von Holtum & Carey, Paul successfully built the personal injury law firm of Meyer & Associates with Helen Meyer, another prominent personal injury attorney and currently a Justice on the Minnesota Supreme Court. While there, Paul developed a highly personalized level of client service while providing outstanding legal representation. In 2002, Paul joined Sieben, Grose, Von Holtum & Carey as a partner.

Paul has been appointed by the MN Supreme Court to serve on the No-Fault Standing Committee. It is a committee of 12 members selected by the Supreme Court for a 4 year term to oversee implementation of the No-Fault law in Minnesota. There are about 5000 no-fault arbitrations each year.

Paul is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, recognition granted to lawyers who have obtained million dollar verdicts for their clients. He regularly wins recognition from his peers in the annual Super Lawyer survey conducted by Minnesota Law & Politics. Paul is on the Board of Governors for the Minnesota Association for Justice and has lectured frequently at various legal seminars. He is active with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, mentors law school students, and is a coach for youth sports.
