Susan M. Holden

Experienced Trial Lawyer and Prominent Member of the Legal Community

Susan M. Holden, a partner in the firm, has distinguished herself representing injured people. Her career accomplishments include several million-dollar recoveries for her clients and many safisfied clients within a broad range of cases. She focuses her practice in the areas of wrongful death, catastrophic injury, product liability, dram shop liability, construction site and automobile accident insurance litigation.

Her courtroom proficiency and trial experience earned her certification as a Civil Trial Specialist by the Minnesota State Bar Association, a distinction achieved by less than one percent of women lawyers in Minnesota. Martindale-Hubbell, the most respected legal directory in the legal community, gave Susan an AV Rating, its highest rating for professional skills and integrity. She was recently appointed by the Minnesota Supreme Court Chief Justice to chair the Special Master Panel that administers compensation for survivors of the I-35W bridge collapse.

Susan enjoys the respect of her colleagues as well. She has been selected many times by her peers as a Leading Minnesota Attorney and Super Lawyer, including Top 40 Personal Injury Lawyer, Top 100 Super Lawyer, Top 50 Women Super Lawyer, and The Best Lawyers in America.

Susan served as President of the Minnesota State Bar Association in 2005-2006. She was given the Presidents Award by the Minnesota State Bar Association in 2008 for outstanding service to the association and the profession. In 2006 she received the Member of the Year award from the Minnesota Trial Lawyers Association for outstanding service and tireless efforts on behalf of the Association. She was one of 25 women recognized in 2005 by The Business Journal as a woman to watch in Minnesota's business community. She was also selected by Minnesota Lawyer as one of 15 Attorneys of the Year in 2005 in recognition of her efforts on behalf of Minnesota's legal profession. She has served on various boards including the Board of Governors of the Minnesota Association for Justice, the Advisory Board of the Minnesota Women Lawyers, and the Board of Directors of Minnesota Continuing Legal Education.

Susan is admitted to the Minnesota State and Federal Bar and the Bar of the United States Supreme Court. She is a frequent author and lecturer on such topics as trial practice, substantive law, and ethical leadership in the profession.
